Heating, Ventilating...What else do we not know?
HVAC-R is the technology of indoor and vehicular environmental comfort. The purpose is to provide acceptable indoor air quality and thermal comfort. HVAC system design is a sub-discipline of mechanical engineering, principles such as fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and heat transfer are applied.
HEATING (the “H” in HVAC-R)
Transferred by convection, conduction, or radiation, the purpose is to generate heat to the building. This can be done via central heating with system contains furnace, boiler or heat pump to heat water, steam or air.
VENTILATION (the “V” in HVAC-R)
The process of exchanging air to the outside, replacing or circulating indoor air within the building, the purpose is to provide high indoor air quality by introducing of outdoor air to prevent stagnation of interior air
The process involves air (oxygen) replenishment, temperature control, and removal of contaminants or other gases and moisture.
AIR CONDITIONING (the “AC” in HVAC-R)
Provides cooling and humidity control for building. Fresh air from outside is drawn into the system by vent into the indoor heat exchanger section.
The purpose is to maintain a constant indoor air condition. The condition can be manipulate by adjusting the opening of the vent.
REFRIGERATION (the “R in HVAC-R)
Provided through the removal of heat. The refrigerant cycle consists of a compressor to pressurized the gas, condensing coil to put the gas into a liquid phase. The process is the same as AC system. Sometimes, we got lazy by not mentioning the “R”, hence HVAC.
At Fiable, we provide copper fittings for HVAC-R system. Various sizes, design and specifications available. Subscribe, reach us to discuss your HVAC-R system's needs today!
